I return to the subject of young people. Judging by the feedback from my editorial from March 7 and the article published in Avui on March 18, I realise how much interest there is in this subject. This interest now is more about concern and hope, rather than academic or sociological issues.

In response to the editorial "Patriotism, nationalism and Constitution"

I think in the editorial “Patriotism, nationalism and Constitution” it is very well focused the nationalism theme. But now it would be necessary to see how it can be translated in the daily politics of our representatives in the Parliament of Catalonia and the way that they share these approaches. I believe that many times it is similar with the basic convictions and, even, in the final goal, but divergences come for the different strategies to apply fro to achieving them.

The Cabinet has approved a draft of constitutional law on the equality between men and women
According
to the National Institute of Statistics we have a 30% of women in the
Congress of the Representatives, a 25% in the Senate, none as the
president of an autonomous region, and a 10% in the City Hall.
Blair manages to approve the law of education
For
458 favorable votes and 115 in against, with the support of the
conservative opposition and with 50 votes against from laborists.
The message of Blair maintains that “the laws should be thrown ahead,
they come from where the votes come, what is important is to do the best for the country”.
“Fomento” does not obtain the TGV Madrid-Lleida surpassing the 200 kilometers per hour

headquarters of the European office of the nuclear fusion reactor

headquarters of Barcelona is the result of the good work that carried

In defense of politics
|
|
|
The first edition of this classic of the political doctrine was published in the year 1962. The purpose of the author, a young 33 years old professor, was to contribute to the recovery of the confidence in the virtues of the politics. For Crick, to defame the politics is to open the door to the dictatorship. The politics are not a necessary hurt but a realgood. Anchored in deeply ethical bases, the political activity makes possible the government, recognizes the divergent interests, tries to reconcile them and refuses the violence, preserving the peace in a complex community. Crick defenses the political action set against the ideologies (totalitarianisms and religions), of the dominant nationalisms (two or more nations can inhabit in a same State), of the tecnocracy and even of the domination of the majorities in democracy. Forty years later, in the epilogue of the fifth edition of the 2000, Crick regrets of the decadence of the political debate, in which they dominate the reproaches, the trivialities, the arguments without reason, the simplifications and the media opportunism. All that that does of the political life the antithesis of what supports Crick and that already affirmed Aristotle: “To live in the diversity in calm and with peace”.

The IRPP is a think tank from Quebec (Montreal) founded in 1972 with the aim to improve the dec ision taking from the government, institutions, organizations and civic society that affect to the Canadian public politics. To face the future of the country with guarantees and the challenges, increasingly more complex, of the globalization, it deepens especially in the present day agenda themes and in those of being susceptible to be in teh future agenda. Thanks to the investigation studies, the edition of several publications and of the work breakfasts organization, lunches and thematic conferences, the IRPP generates an open dialogue space to all thesociety . Its board of directors gathers a representative of each Canadian region and their members come from the academic world and the society in general.
