This time it has been the President himself who has selected the forty texts, mainly public interventions (from 1958 to 2002), which form this volume, and which in accordance with his criterion express better his tought about the great subjects that have constituted the central axis of his political worries: the nationalism, the construction of Catalonia, the language, the identity, the fitting from Catalonia in Spain, the international projection of Catalonia, the Europeanness, the ellfare state, the values and the role of the politics and of the politicians. Besides the selection, the president carries out a significant contribution in this book: each thematic block in which he has divided the text is presented by himself with some introductory comments that summarize the contents and reaffirm the trajectory of a thought that has kept solid and constant along the time in his foundation, but always open to new points of view and of horizons. The book is also illustrated with a selection of pictures, some of the family archive, and on which the president himself comments. Here a Jordi Pujol is revealed to us in a more human facet, with some points of fine irony and of humor. After reading the book, many will think that hopefully this coming back to antique texts of the president was a first step to approach the writing of his memories. We will have to wait and see.
