The Catalan condition Everyone who lives and works in Catalonia, and who wants to be so, is Catalan. That is to say, being Catalan is not determined by the past or by blood, but by the present and the future, by one's own choice to live together with others. No one must be forgotten. One way of attaining our objective is to reject the notion of "immigrant". There can only be Catalans: people who have acquired the millennial Catalan tradition and have enriched it over the centuries with new heritages, people with plans for the future. Violence has no place in nationalismAll nationalism must be based on positive attitudes and feelings, and must be carried out by peaceful means, in a spirit of unity and coexistence, respecting everything and everyone. Nothing can be built on resentment. Radicalism must be avoided at all costs. We must preserve the memory of our men and women, their virtues, the principles they defended, the reality of the country we were and remain. |
