Education is a fundamental activity. Without it, progress is impossible. Training is also and above all a fact of personal achievement. Collective progress requires a good education policy.
Education must be modernised as a whole
Above all there is a need to forge closer links between professional training, the university and business, in both education and research.
The education system has been neglected for many years by the central governments of Spain. To modernise it, we must:
- Continue increasing the number of school places
- Give impetus to secondary education, not least professional training
- Strive to obtain a qualitative improvement in our universities
- Insist on a policy to encourage new professions and new curricula not controlled by the central government
- Increase and improve adult education, perceiving it as an element of personal development and dignity
