One of the traditional objectives of Catalan nationalism is the way it views the entire nation, the entire social and geographical body of Catalonia as a living entity.
The following conditions are required in order to achieve this:
- A communications policy
- A wealth-creation policy for the entire territory
- Industrial development and the development of tourism
- Agricultural development
- A policy to improve the standard of living and welfare of the entire country
- The possibility of personal advancement throughout the entire country
Catalonia must seek a balance between these two components:
- On the one hand, it is fortunate to have a large capital city with its areas of influence. Without Barcelona, Catalonia would lose half its strength.
- On the other, Barcelona is fortunate to be the capital of a country, of an entire nation, with a language, a culture and a territory.
The convergence of these two realities is what gives Catalonia its life and strength.
