The people of Catalonia seek unequivocal and full recognition of their collective personality. That personality is based on a history, language, culture, and historical conscience, and the determined will to conserve them.
Our claim to self-determination has no administrative motivation, nor is it solely motivated by politics alone. We need autonomy to strengthen our identity. We need it as a country that constitutes a very specific case in Europe.
Catalonia must find its place in Spain. It seeks to and must be part of a harmonic whole, marked by solidarity and participation between all the peoples of Spain.
This main task, therefore, is to define, in collaboration with Spain's central government, what our autonomy will encompass in its administrative, linguistic, cultural, financial and political policies.
